In the past, intelligence was measured only through IQ tests. However, nowadays it is recognized and accepted that thoughts and emotions are inter-dependents, which coexist and collaborate with the capabilities to comprehend and adapt.
People with a high EQ better handle their emotional life, and are able to understand and deal with the feelings of others. This theory explains why those people who are traditionally considered more intelligent do not always have the best working or personal relationships. Using a language of multiple intelligences, EQ is the summary of intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligences.
Our teaching experience has taught us that when we stimulate the development of the EQ, we achieve better school performance, as well as a happy and healthy students.
